EdgeFirst Studio powers innovative solutions like The Ocean Cleanup’s Automated Debris Imaging System (ADIS), leveraging AI enabled Maivin Vision Sensors to map plastic debris across the vast expanse of the worlds oceans.

By deploying the Maivin Vision Sensor on merchant vessels worldwide, The Ocean Cleanup is able to automate data collection and scale mapping to a global level, enabling development of more precise behavioural models to help predict hotspots and  efficient recovery of debris.

Space Robotics

Obstacle Detection and Collision Avoidance

EdgeFirst Studio was used to help accelerate the technical feasibility study, prototype development, and analysis for the Canadian Space Agency focused on Visual AI for space robotics obstacle detection. This project aimed to improve the autonomy of future space robotic systems through the use of a vision system based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.

By leveraging EdgeFirst Studio, Au-Zone was able to rapidly customize Spatial Perception and AI based approaches to explore practical solutions for this challenging application. The platform’s rapid prototyping capabilities enabled Au-Zone to meet strict project budgets and timelines while delivering a detailed exploration of scalable, real-time obstacle detection and collision avoidance techniques intended for constrained space hardware platforms.

 

EdgeFirst Studio’s versatility and robust programmable interfaces were instrumental in validating technical feasibility and advancing innovative solutions for autonomous systems.
